I love fruits. I really do. I can eat a whole watermelon in a day. I love vegetables probably even more, or at least as much as fruits. I can not understand how is it possible not to eat fruits (and I’m not talking about some chunks in a sugary syrops or juices) or vegetables. It’s easier for me understand chemistry or IT, but not this.
I don’t remember what exactly made Nathan to buy me a juicer but we ended up having a pretty good Breville juicer, which work for both fruits (including citrus) and vegetables.
I used to make the same juice every morning: apple, carrots, celery. I can’t tell for how long, but for quite a while. My breakfast wasn’t complete without a big glass of this juice.
I juiced pineapple, oranges, grapefruits for other occasions. It’s like, if you have a juicer you juice pretty much everything.
Then for some reason I stopped juicing. May be summer enriched me with other delights, may be something else, but I didn’t juice much till a couple weeks ago.
Having a baby is a work. Its a full-time one. You kind of feel tired during the day. I have been drinking decaf coffee for some time, then I switched to drinking decaf only in the afternoon, but never worked. I was still out of energy.
What happened was, I read an article about morning smoothies and juices being a source of energy and actually an engine which wakes up your body and digestion. Sounds pretty good to me.
So now I’m back to juicing in the morning. This time beet root is added to my favorite combo. Most of people think that beets are grose, but not me. Love everything about them and they are so good for you. All the vegetables used are well-known antioxidants, they are all good for your digestion, blood and heart. Even ginger, which in addition adds a spicy kick to the juice.
- 1 small beet root, peeled
- 2 celery stalks
- about 2 inches of ginger, peeled
- 1 apple (I like McIntosh or Fuji)
- 1-2 carrots
Instructions: Just juice it!
